    Emergent is seeking a Storage Sales Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will support Red Hat’s strategy to promote the sharing and adoption of Red Hat’s Storage solutions with Federal, State, and Local  accounts by enabling customers to define, develop, and deploy their next-generation strategies. You'll be responsible for building strategic relationships with the Red Hat sales team, Sales Specialists, Solutions Architects; as well as executives and IT organization leaders to promote the Red Hat portfolio of Open Source Cloud, Enterprise Automation, and Middleware solutions.

     

    Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

    • Work with the enterprise sales teams to plan the overall Storage strategy within a set of defined accounts
    • Discover net new accounts and collaborate with the Red Hat Storage presales team to manage meaningful proofs of concepts
    • Gain the trust of senior IT and business executives within key accounts and create long-term partnerships as well as the sales team at Red Hat and within Emergent
    • Work with enterprise sales teams to ensure Red Hat’s Storage solutions become the first choice for our strategic customers
    • Define, develop and execute territory sales plan targeting US government agencies and System Integrators for Red Hat products
    • Establish and maintain key relationships with clients, partners, vendors and/or manufacturers at all levels of the organization, including executives to advance the sales cycle and support the client post-sale.
    • Perform prospecting activities to gain new business and advance the sales cycle, such as identifying and understanding customers’ issues and technical infrastructure; researching & generating detailed account profiles
    • Educate prospects on the capabilities of Red Hat Storage solutions, identifying the appropriate technologies to solve client problems
    • Follow standard sales methodology to manage the end-to-end sales process, including collaboration with Red Hat channel sales to deliver proposals
    • Building and supporting hands-on technical workshops at remote customer sites
    • Building and running live Demos, webinars, and presentations for key IT decision makers
    • Guide the customer from initially considering and adopting storage to potentially extend it into public or hybrid cloud architectures

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience  (Computer Engineering, Computer Information System, or Computer Science preferred but not required)
    • 2-4 years enterprise experience in the IT industry

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • 2+ years of experience in a solutions sales role
    • Experience in a solutions sales role, including 2+ years focused on storage solutions
    • Demonstrated storage market and competitive knowledge opportunities
    • Background in consultative customer engagement
    • Broad technical experience with enterprise IT technologies, prior development experience a plus
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to present to executives at large firms
    • Ability to sell solutions in a multiproduct environment
    • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and achieve success for customers
    • Balance of strategic and tactical skills
    • Experience in a customer-facing sales roles with demonstrated solutions-selling skills
    • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to create effective PowerPoint presentations
    • Ability to manage a complex enterprise sales cycle

     

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSAs):

    • Ability to successfully complete a series of Red Hat online training courses to become an authorized certified Red Hat representative within 6 months of hire
    • Ability to manage multiple issues and projects while maintaining a high level of detail
    • Ability to convey information to customers in a clear and concise manner verbally and in writing
    • Ability to work independently with limited direction
    • Ability to solve a variety of problems with minimal to moderate complexity, adapting common solutions to unique customer situations.
    • Ability to build and present live or virtual demo’s for customer based around Red Hat’s Emerging Technology portfolio
