Job Overview & Responsibilities

The Lead Certinia Financial Administrator serves as the organization’s expert on Certinia Billing Central and Revenue Management, acting as the technical lead for Quote-to-Cash and revenue operations within Salesforce and Certinia. This role partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and cross-functional business units to optimize processes, reduce exceptions, improve data integrity, and scale financial operations as the company grows.

 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Certinia Billing Central, Revenue Management, and core Accounting modules.
  • Lead the technical execution of end-to-end Quote-to-Cash operations within Salesforce and Certinia.
  • Manage and optimize Certinia system functionality to ensure accurate and efficient billing, revenue recognition, and financial processes.
  • Oversee daily billing and revenue operations to ensure timely, compliant, and accurate financial outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Finance and Accounting to support month-end close and ensure alignment between system activity and financial reporting.
  • Maintain data integrity across Certinia, Salesforce, and all integrated financial and operational systems.
  • Provide responsive user support and training to Finance, Accounting, Sales, and Operations teams.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting that enhance visibility into billing, revenue, and operational performance.
  • Document system configurations, workflows, and process changes to support continuity and compliance.
  • Collaborate across departments to reduce exceptions, streamline workflows, and support scalable operational processes.
  • Lead system enhancements, upgrades, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Maintain role-based access controls and support audit and compliance requirements through accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of system data and workflows to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to reduce manual work and increase operational efficiency.
  • Support and enhance integrations with financial and operational platforms such as NetSuite, MuleSoft, Avalara, and BI Tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement by staying up-to-date on Certinia platform updates, Salesforce releases, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience administering Certinia Billing, Revenue, or Accounting modules.
  • Certinia Accounting System Administration Certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite, MuleSoft, Avalara, and Tableau a plus.

 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSAs):

  • Deep knowledge of Certinia Billing Central, Revenue Management, and core Accounting modules.
  • Strong understanding of Quote-to-Cash processes and end-to-end revenue operations.
  • Understanding of Salesforce configuration, data structures, and workflow behavior.
  • Strong knowledge base of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) related to billing and revenue.
  • Excellent understanding of SalesForce DocGen engines, OmniStudio and/or Conga.
  • Excellent analytical thinking skills to solve complex system, data, and process issues with minimal oversight.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues, improve processes, and support the organization.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
